Theory --

The preprations contain talc which is a mineral ingredient and may be contaimated with spores clastridom welchin (a sorce of tetanus).  Therefore whwnver talc and kaolin is to be used in dusting powder must be sterlised by heating at 160 degree celsius for one hour to remove these micro organism . Purified talc has excellent flow and lubricant properties therefore is used in a number of dusting powder. stacrch act as an a absorbent. Zinc Oxide act as a antiseptic and absorb moisture
Baric acid should no longer be used in Dusting Powder since it has been found that it may be absorbed in large amount through the open skin landing to toxin reaction..

Procedure--

1. Weigh the required quantities of purified talc, sterlised, starchin powder and zinc oxide
2. mix zinc oxide with starch, in-corporate purified talc, sterlised
3. mix throughly, pass the mixed powders through sieve no 120 to remove gritty particles.
4. after shifting, whole of the powder must again be lightly mixed.
5. pack the powder in shifter to container to protect it from air, moisture to contaimation as well as convience of application  

Uses--

It is used as an antiseptic dusting powder.
